Hi Guys!

After such a glorious day yesterday the weather is back to normal… crap!
Just got back from taking Buster up the mountain. He’s only got little
legs and his belly gets filthy! Luckily he’s so small he fits into the
sink for a wash. My wife won’t let me put him in the washing machine
in case he blocks it! (Yes, I am joking… he’d definitely block it).

Anyway… onwards!

In my last email I waffled on about choosing and getting a domain name.
If you haven’t done it yet, get moving! If you have, well done!

Remember: whatever you want to do online you’ll need a domain…
so don’t put it off. Do it now!

Okay. So let’s assume you’ve got a domain. Next thing is to get hosting.
Think of a domain as a caravan/camper/trailer/mobile home… whatever
you call it in your neck of the world.

Now you’ve got it you need somewhere to park it… You’ve to pay ground
rent. (Sorry to use the “p” word, don’t panic it’s not that expensive!).

For my hosting I use a company called Hostgator. I use them because:
they’re cheap (I like cheap!)
their customer service is outstanding

Get over to Hostgator now and click on “View Web Hosting Plans”

(They’ve got a sale on! All the plans are cheaper than when I looked
yesterday!).

The plans are: Hatchling, Baby, and Business

The hatchling is the cheapest, but it allows just one domain.
The Baby is a little more expensive, but allows UNLIMITED domains.

Guess which one you want!

Yep… Big letters coming up… GO GET THE BABY PLAN!

Now you got that sorted you’ll soon have your squeeze page taking
email addresses.

Give yourself a huge pat on the back!

Remember: making money online is like anything else… take no action
and you’ll get zip.

In my next email I’ll tell you which autoresponder I use… and why.

See you on the Dark Side!

Robert “I love Gators” Watkins

P.S   Don’t put it off! Get over to Hostgator and get it sorted.
The sooner you get started, the sooner you’ll see the cash.

P.P.S I’ve decided to put these emails onto my much-neglected blog
so you can refer back to them. (Yep… I’m all heart!).

You can see the email on getting a domain  HERE

Get A Domain – What Every Marketer MUST Do First!

Hi!

I’ve decided to start “recycling” some of my email broadcasts and making them into blog posts. Yep, I’ve gone all green… or maybe it’s that dodgy curry I had last night!

Anyway, here’s the first. It’s all about getting a domain for your squeeze page so’s you can start building your list…

.
I’m really lucky where I live. Just a few minutes and a couple
of hundred yards walk and I’m up on the mountainside looking
down across the valley. Just got back taking Buster, our bichon
frise, for a stroll. Read the rest of this entry

My Six Figure Mentors Journey Update

Hi,
Thanks for dropping by.

As you may have read in my previous posts, I joined The Six Figure Mentors (SFM) at the end of November 2011. Within around four to five weeks I’d started making money!

Okay, so it wasn’t a fortune, but I’d achieved something in that time that I hadn’t done in five years of struggling to make money online… I was actually making money! And continued to do so.

And then something “magical” happened… I made my first $1000 commission! WOW! It was a tremendous feeling, one that I’ll never forget.

I’ve decided to spend a lot more time blogging and adding content to this site, so please drop in now and then to see what’s going on.

See you soon,
Robert

All Going Well With The Six Figure Mentors

Hi,

I’ve been pretty busy sorting out my “Six Figure Mentors” (SFM) training. I must be honest and say that I was less than happy when SFM changed the training program and their hosting. It meant that I had to start all over again.

But it was worth it as the new training is even better than before. AND I STARTED MAKING MONEY!!!

Yes, it’s true. In the sales pages Stuart Ross says that he’ll show you how to build an online business that makes money in 6 to 12 weeks. Well I beat that! I started making money in just under 4 weeks!

At the moment I’m experimenting with some different ways (both free and paid) to send traffic to my sites. I’m concentrating mainly on my squeeze page so’s I can build my list.

Stay tune… I’ll let you know how I get on.

This Blog’s Very First Post!

Hi there,

Robert Watkins here, and welcome to my new internet marketing blog. This blog is a “journal” of my experience with my new mentor, Stuart Ross and his “Six Figure Mentors” program. What I learn (both successes and failures) I’ll share with you to help you achieve success online, so stay tuned and feel free to bookmark my blog and check back regularly on my progress: my “journey into internet marketing.”

I’ve been online for about four years and learned lots of things, unfortunately making money’s not one of them! Because I already had a few domains (including this domain) and hosting I was able to get this site and running  fairly quickly. I was scratching my head, wondering what to write on this first post when I noticed one of my plugins needed updating. So I updated it…

DISASTER STRUCK … Across the screen it said: FATAL ERROR

My site was dead… gone forever. I couldn’t get into wordpress admin. I couldn’t access it through cpanel. I couldn’t do anything using ftp.

When I stopped panicking and had a little time to think, I sent an email to my host (Hostgator) asking for help. In less than an hour this site was back online!

So what have I learned today?

LESSON ONE

Get your hosting from a good company.  Hostgator’s technical support are fantastic! I cannot recommend them too highly.

LESSON TWO

Make regular backups of your WordPress site. I’ve just bought some information on making your wordpress site more secure, and how to backup properly. I’ve not read it yet, but I’ll let you know when I have.

LESSON THREE

Don’t install WordPress plugins for the sake of it! If you don’t need them, don’t install them! If you don’t know what they do, don’t install them!

Thanks for visiting, and check back soon,

Regards,

Robert
